Re: Sea Blue 66 Restocal

Not that much to update as i've been away training for my new job for the last month, so no work done on the car, although should get some done this weekend with a bit of luck.
Anyway managed to pick up a couple of bits recently, namely some ball joint dropped spindles
Image

Also got some Wolfsberg West running boards with Sea Blue mats.

Which will go nicely with the NOS sea blue wing beading that i got a while back

Again not that much to update with due to the arrival of my baby boy, and the fact that the weather doesn't help, but have picked up a few more bits.
This turned up for me the other day.
Image
New door panels, seat covers, seat pads, sisel, grab handles, headlining, dash grab handle and door handles. All are as original (in the off white colour), with the exception of the grab handle which is now grey rather than black. Will probably try and get the seats stripped sprayed and recovered over the winter if i get the time.

Re: Sea Blue 66 Restocal

Been a while since i've had a chance to do any work, but managed a little over the weekend.

Whilst i had repaired the rips in the front seats previously they still looked very dirty and were not happy that they did not match the rear seats. I also wanted to change the black seat frames to L466 Silver Beige (although this is almost impossible to get hold of as no one has the formula for it so in this case its LY7A Cabun Grey which is identical). The reason for the colour changes is due to the fact that the car has a white steering wheel, rather than a black which it would have come with so the steering column will be sprayed as well.
Heres the seat stripped down,

then taken back to bare metal

And given a quick coat of primer

The side panel was also stripped and resprayed
Image

Seat pad was replaced as well as some padding on the seat backs and finally the new TMI covers were put on and the seat was (very carefully!) reassembled.

This is how it ended up
Image
(apologies for the crappy photo but it was dark at this point and the seat had gone back into the loft).
And this is a pic of drivers seat for comparison, although it doesn't look that bad in this shot it is rather scabby.

Rear seat to do next, then other little bits like the gear stick and steering column will be sprayed.

Maybe he's locked in the loft with the seats?

Yeah i've locked him up there until he's finished the seats!!!

As for when it will be finished, good question! If i can get it into paint by the end of summer then next year will be likely. The issue that i have is that because the garage is not heated and i'm using cellulose i can only spray the car in the summer, and as there is still a lot to do it hinders me a bit. I also have the small problem at the moment of having lost the keys to the garage!!
