Some of my cars...
I've got a really bad habit- buying VWs! I don't intentionally go out there looking for cars- they actually find me!!
Anyway, here's a bit of info on my current 'portfolio'....
1959 RHD Beetle. I've owned it since 1997 and will never part with this one! It had a handful of careful owners in West Wales and the Midlands before I acquired it. To date, it has covered 120,000 miles and has not been restored.
1960 RHD Beetle. I found this in South Africa last year. It was purchsed from the estate of the original owner. The dry climate has kept the bodywork in fantstic condition. The interior is tatty though and I'm working on the mechanical side of it at the moment. Should be MoT'd and on the road soon.
1961 Karmann Ghia Cabriolet. Believe it or not, this car was just about to be part exchanged for a new Audi A4 at the Audi dealership in Hove!! I stepped in and purchsed the car before the car reached the Audi forecourt! It was originally a Californian car imported and restored in the early 90's. An ideal seafront cruiser!!
1963 RHD 1500 Notchback. Two previous owners before me. The first one was a Cornish farmer who owned it from 1963 to 1984. The second guy kept it until June 2007 when I purchsed it. It's a mega-rare 'Pre-S' single carb RHD Notchback and possibly the oldest surviving UK supplied Type 3 still in existance.
1966 RHD 1600TL Fastback. I purchased this from the original owner in 2006. He was an elderly gent from Dorset who was giving up driving. He had owned and cherished the car from day one (1st October 1965) and kept every receipt relating to the car. It is the oldest known RHD Fastback in the world.
1967 RHD 1600TL Fastback. This car has been in Brighton for some years. I recently swapped it for another one of my cars. It's a really good, solid early Fastback. Not many of these early Type 3s have survived the ravages of the British winters.
1972 RHD Type 2 Danbury Camper. This van is still in its original paint! Although it looks a bit rough around the edges, it's in remarkably good original condition (considering it's been in constant use on British roads for 35 years!). It needs some minor bodywork, but that should be sorted out later in the year.
Hope you enjoy the pics!

Re: Some of my cars...
Quite a habit you have there!
Lovely looking cars, I have a soft spot for the Fastbacks at the moment and hope to acquire one in a few years time when finances and the need for a LARGE family car has passed...still I can drool over yours for the time being

Re: Some of my cars...
Hi Rich,
Very, very nice collection but having had a Danbury I do have a soft spot for that van. Not quite as tidy as the last Danbury you had from what I remember but still full of character. We still haven't met, hope to catch up with you at a club night soon and talk sliding seats, pop up stoves and the endless bed configurations We resorted to setting the bed up before going out for the evening as it was a marathon when you got back in the dark
